Kokobanana Bar & Grill

Scalinis means “small steps” in Italian.

Over the years, we have taken small steps in our business to get to  where we are today.  Scalinis began in St Heliers, Auckland, New Zealand  back in 1999, our plan was always to move home to Samoa – Joe was born  in Samoa, & Amanda is a kiwi girl from the Manawatu (just north of  Wellington, NZ). That plan came to fruition in 2009, and we have never  looked back.

Things to See - Savaii

Swimming With Turtles

Swimming With Turtles

Swimming With Turtles

Swimming with Turtles is located in the village of Sato'alepai, Savaii. It is one of the most
common sites visited by tourists in Savaii.

Moso's Footprint

Swimming With Turtles

Swimming With Turtles

According to myth, Moso's Footprint in Samoa was made when the  giant Moso stepped over to Samoa from Fiji, and the other footprint can  be found on Viti Levu of Fiji. It is a 1m by 3m rock enclosure.

Paia Dwarfs Cave

Swimming With Turtles

Alofaaga Blowholes

According to belief, dwarfs still inhabit this intriguing lava tube cave
and their footprints can still be seen today.

Alofaaga Blowholes

Falealupo House of Rock

Alofaaga Blowholes

These powerful blowholes are among the most spectacular on Earth, and  well worth going out of your way for. Strong waves are pushed through a  series of lava tubes, causing rip-roaring, geyser-like explosions that  shoot dozens of metres into the air.

Falealupo Canapy Walk

Falealupo House of Rock

Falealupo House of Rock

This  wobbly walk takes you across a 24m jerry-built bridge strung between  two large trees almost 10m above the rainforest floor. After you cross  the walkway to the second tree, climb via a slightly sturdier wooden  ladder to a platform up a magical, nearly 230-year-old banyan tree.

Falealupo House of Rock

Falealupo House of Rock

Falealupo House of Rock

Legend  says this site – a partially collapsed lava tube – is the result of a  house-building competition between Falealupo’s men and women, a contest  the women won; it's a symbol of motivation for Samoan women to this day.
